| Instructions | 1. Instructions: For best results, use in a fixture with an Electronic Ballast. Electronic ballasts use less energy and eliminate the Flicker commonly associated with fluorescent lamps. This lamp may not operate properly in a fixture with a magnetic ballast2. Lamp Distance: this lamp emits beneficial UVB up to 20 inches from the surface of the bulb. Glass and plastic filter out UVB; there should be no glass or plastic between the lamp and your reptile. Fine mesh blocks up to 50% of light and UVB. This should be taken into consideration when determining lamp distance.3. Important!: Do not mount the ReptiSun 10.0 any closer than 6” to your animals as this can cause serious harm.4. Photoperiod: Lamp should be turned on in the morning and turned off at night to provide a proper photoperiod of approximately 10 hours per day.5. Shelter: Provide a shelter to allow your reptile to move in and out of the light and UVB. Be sure to provide the proper temperature gradient for your species. |
